Duracel Powermat Duracell Powermat the revolutionary charger

In September, last year, Duracell closed a partnership with Powermat in order to develop and produce charging platforms for a variety of wireless devices and media, including charging stations at airports. At CES 2012, this week, they presented the wireless charger Duracell Powermat that will revolutionize the way today’s charging equipment works.

At the fair the two companies made a demonstration with integrated wireless module in a toy box with a few toys that had to be charged. If you did not know that this toy box had wireless charging modules, you’d think it’s a common wooden box. Moreover, the representative of the two companies revealed that they developed a software capable of monitoring the battery charge level of multiple devices at the same time. He proves this in the interview below with a tablet that shows you the charging level for every toy in the toy box.

The advantage of the Duracell Powermat charger is that wireless modules can be mounted in a drawer, on a desk or on a lamp, in places where you would not have thought that you could recharge your gadgets and other devices without wires all over the house.

Duracell also presented and Instant Charger for smartphones, iPods and other terminals, the only observation would be that if the smartphones can be charged by placing them on the charger, the iPhone requires a special case.

We do not know exactly when will we use this technology in everyday life, but still we hope for hearing soon about trials of implementation.
